Welcome to Stone Ridge Veterinary Hospital

At Stone Ridge Veterinary Hospital, we hope every visit is a positive experience! For your convenience, we’ve provided a general overview of what to expect during your first appointment with us. We also encourage you to contact us with any additional questions or concerns.

Plan Ahead

It’s always important to take extra care when exposing your pet to a new environment. For the safety of every patient, we ask that your pet remain in a carrier or on a leash while in the waiting room. Some animals can be intimidating or aggressive toward others they don’t know, so try scheduling your appointment at a time when our hospital is less crowded. If you have a more temperamental pet, feel free to discuss your concerns with us. We’re happy to advise you on appropriate management techniques, as well as basic training practices.

What to Bring

Please bring any health records or documents from previous veterinary providers. Ideally, this includes the vaccines your pet has received, previous parasite treatments, past surgical procedures, and other relevant medical information. We recommend that you bring in a stool sample as well. We also ask that every owner complete the client form available on our website.

The First Exam

Every wellness exam we perform is gentle and thorough. During the first visit, we will weigh your pet and assess the following:

  • Skin
  • Coat
  • Eyes
  • Ears
  • Heart
  • Lungs
  • Teeth

We will also discuss any necessary vaccines and parasite prevention, as well as spaying / neutering and microchipping.

Remember, there are no silly questions, and we encourage you to take an active role in your pet’s health. At Stone Ridge Veterinary Hospital, we’re here to listen and provide support to you and your companion.
