Helpful Hints

Boarding As a Stress

Most dogs and cats do adapt to the boarding environment, and, while they miss their families, their time with us is filled with wonderment of the many different sights and smells and activities in an animal hospital. A few do not eat well in the boarding environment and tend to lose weight, so bring along a special snack or your pets favorite food.

Personal Pet Belongings

We cannot accept responsibility for any pet belongings that may become damaged or misplaced while your pet is boarding, therefore, we kindly ask that you leave all your pet’s belongings at home. Our facility is well equipped to accommodate your pets need for a comfy blanket, food/water bowls, and treats/food. However, if your pet is extremely finicky or has a sensitivity to diet changes, feel free to bring in their regular food.

Emergency Information

Please be prepared, at the time you drop off your pet, to leave with us a phone number and name of a person who can reach you, or authorize treatment in the event your pet becomes ill during their stay with us. The hospital will make every attempt to reach you and make you aware of any problems. However, should we be unable to reach you, we will do everything deemed medically necessary to treat your pet.

LET US KNOW OF ANY SPECIAL NEEDS YOUR PET MAY HAVE.

Playtime

In addition to meeting all your pets basic care needs, a half-hour of play time is available for all animals that are boarding. A staff member will oversee the individual play time for your pet. There is a minimal fee for this service.

Dog Day Care

A dog day care is available to all of our canine companions. You can conveniently drop you dog/puppy off in the morning and pick them up at the end of the day.

Through the course of the day, your dog will have breakfast, play times, and snacks (if you choose).

All veterinary, grooming and training services are available in addition to day care, for an additional charge.

This service is ideal for the puppy who’s not ready to be home alone, the geriatric dog who needs attention throughout the day, or those pets requiring frequent medications/treatments.

Services available in full and half day increments.

Vaccination Requirements

We require that all pets are current on their vaccines.

For dogs, that includes rabies, distemper/parvo and kennel cough.

For cats that includes rabies and feline distemper.

If vaccines were given at another hospital, proper proof is required.

The vaccine to protect against kennel cough (tracheobronchitis) is required annually for dogs boarding with us. For maximum effectiveness, the vaccine should be given at least 24 hours prior to boarding. Please feel free to ask for details.

Finally, we want to provide the best possible care for your pet while it is in our care. If you have any suggestions or comments that you feel may improve the care given to your pet, please make you thoughts known to us.
